Big tech’s anti conservative bias ‘well documented’

Sky News host Rita Panahi says Twitter's decision to 'fact check' Donald Trump shows social media's "double standards in policing speech" where "conservatives are banned for infractions that don’t seem to apply to hard Left account holders who can spew all sorts of defamatory abuse and threats." Earlier this week Twitter fact checked US President Donald Trump’s account, adding a warning label on two of his tweets regarding mail in ballots and voter fraud with a link to a CNN factcheck. “And while Twitter targets Trump it allows the deranged, genocidal rants of Iran's supreme leader even though Twitter is banned in the Islamic Republic,” Ms Panahi said. “Twitter also seems untroubled by Chinese government propagandists spreading crazy conspiracy theories about the origins of COVID-19 on their platform”. “Accidentally misgender a dude with a full beard who identifies as a pixie and you'll be suspended quick smart but any sort of deranged abuse of conservatives is considered fair game,” she said. “If Twitter wants to behave like a publisher then it should be treated like one. “It can't pretend to be a neutral platform when it exerts editorial control including selective fact checking, shadow-banning and other underhanded forms of censorship that are almost always targeted at conservatives.” Image: AP
